Following the news of the sacking of the most respected Blues manager for some time in Garry Monk, the bookies have been quick to compile their odd’s list for who will replace Monk in the hotseat.
It has been made known through the club’s official statement that Pep Clotet will stand in as caretaker, with Monk’s backroom staff also staying put, for the time being…
It is expected if Monk finds another club soon enough, Pep and Beattie will more than likely be following the 40-year-olds footsteps.
This begs the question, who takes over and if any backroom staff can install such belief and confidence in the team which Pep and Beattie were a major part of doing so last season.
One name that has been doing the rounds and who currently tops the betting lists is Xavier Calm. The former Cornella manager stepped down from the club last week and is currently without a club.
It is known Blues have ties with Cornella, whereby young players are given training and loan opportunities with the Spanish outfit.
The initiative has also facilitated pre-season trips and given the club’s development coaches exposure to Spanish methods.
It has been rumoured the board already have a replacement in place. For now, the bookies are doing the talking and Xavier looks like he may be the next manager to jump on the never-ending carousel (below).
