The race for the playoffs

After an impressive victory at home to Hull on Thursday, Blues have quite a handful of games coming up.

Gary Rowett’s men travel to Ewood Park to face Blackburn on Tuesday, with Wolves also away on the following Sunday. However the big test for Blues is April, where 3 of the top 4 visit St Andrews. The Blues boss will no doubt feel this is a positive after a fantastic display under the floodlights Thursday night.

Here’s the run-in Blues and the other 6th place chasers have:

Birmingham City:

Blackburn Rovers (A)

Queens Park Rangers (H)
Brentford (A)

A standout fixture would be Blues against Cardiff and we all know we love doing it the hard way. Other big games include Ipswich V Sheffield Wednesday and Cardiff against Wednesday – games that can turn the race on its head.

Blues also have a game in hand over their rivals – that being Leeds on the 12th April. The Blues boss will be taking each game as it comes, but Blues fans are very optimistic this season watching their team mostly made up of loanee’s and free’s competing at the business end of the table.

On paper you could say Blues have the toughest run-in out of the 4, but the team have raised their game against those in the top half of the table. Anything is possible…

What do you think, can Blues keep their good form going from now until the end of the season?
