MATCH PREVIEW: Norwich V Blues

Friday night football sees Blues take on third place side, Norwich City in the Sky Bet Championship tonight at Carrow Road.

When we took on our opponents in the first game of the season, a very, very late equaliser for the Canaries via Onel Hern├índez meant the points were shared on day one. Since then, Daniel Farke’s side have won 14 games and are the second highest goal scoring team in the Championship, meanwhile Blues are 2 places shy of a play-off spot.

Speaking of which, Blues have had a mediocre patch of form lately, and our 8th place position is only intact by Goal Difference as 3 other teams (Nottm Forest, Hull, QPR) currently sit on the same amount of points as us. In our last game, we lost 2-1 to Middlesbrough as Che Adams’ 79th minute strike meant nothing in the end as Assombalonga took all 3 points back to the Riverside Stadium for Tony Pulis’ side. Despite the loss, there were many good spells in the game and a ruled-out Blues penalty claim in the second half proved costly in the end, but we need to keep our heads high and focus on getting the job done tonight against an even better side, as the league table suggests.

The Canaries have also had a somewhat poor run of form lately, as they are win-less in their previous 4 league encounters, so they will be raring to go to get a 15th win of the season under their belts today to close the gap on current table-toppers Leeds United, but I’m sure as always the boys in blue will do everything in their power to ensure that a possible play-off push could get back on track.

In-form Blues striker, Che Adams is on tip-top form this season, netting 13 times in the league, but he has brought much more to the table this year with his fair share of assists and his excellent play-making, and fellow strike-partner Lukas Jutkiewicz has also chipped in with 10 goals and 9 assists. But Norwich forward Teemu Pukki sits second for the highest amount of goals scored in the Championship this season (15) but our brilliant defending has meant that we have conceded the 5th least amount of goals in the league this season.

To be honest, I’d bite your hand off for a draw today. With both teams not being in the best form lately, I think it will be tough for either side, but I just can’t see us being the side to leave this game with the win, so I think to get a draw against a very good side this season would be brilliant for the moral within the team and hopefully get us back on track to move higher up the table in the weeks to come… so I’m going for a 1-1 draw tonight!

Let’s get behind the boys in blue and BRING THE NOISE!! KRO
