There is a chance Blues’ summer target Ogenyi Onazi could be set to sign for Blues in the summer.

This news comes after Trabzonspor president Muharrem Usta has reportedly agreed a deal with an unnamed English club, according to Fotospor.

The Nigerian International was reported to have completed his move to Blues under Redknapp, but he was unable to complete his work permit in time.

The 25-year-old has said recently he’d love to play in England before he retires:

“I believe in the next transfer window it’s going to happen. Now we know what we need to do to make everything happen,” he told the BBC.

“Of course that [England] is one of the places I want to play before thinking about retiring.

“I can only keep working hard to help my team now; I know and believe by the special grace of God it’s going to happen soon.”

Onazi will be available for as little as  €3.5m in the transfer window. What do you think, if we’re still in the championship, should Monk make a move for the defensive midfielder?

  1. We dont need a defensive midfielder or someone marking time till he retires, we need a striker, preferably one who is young and has come through the ranks at Blues

  2. If we get shot of Gardner (which seems likely) he could be worth a punt. He’s only 25. I agree with Mr. Anonymous above though: a good homegrown striker would be wonderful. However, let’s not forget we have Isaac back next season. If we stay up I think Monk could mould us into a hell of a unit. KRO.
