Blues in race with Leeds to sign Croatia International

Blues have lodged a bid for Croatia U21 captain Ivan Sunjic from Dinamo Zagreb.

Leeds United are also understood to be in the race to sign the highly rated holding midfielder, with Blues already making an offer of £3.5million, according to the Daily Mail.

Sunjic, who was in the side who drew 3-3 with England last month, has been heavily linked with Marcelo Bielsa’s side with news Kalvin Phillips is expected to join Aston Villa.

In May 2017, Sunjic was called to the senior international team for a friendly match against Mexico, where they won 2-1.

As you can see from the video below, Sunjic likes to play from the back and can certainly pick out a perfected lofted pass.

Again, with the Pablo Mari link, this is another ambitious target, but it’s good to see Blues linked with these type of players nonetheless.

  1. At least there is some movement with the board on trying to get a few players in, it sounds as tho they are decent players too, KRO.

  2. Fake news. Why would he play ch. football games instead of qualification for Champions and Europe league games with Dinamo Zagreb?
    Anyhow, he’s great young player.

  3. We need to be quick and clinical cap in hand ..get in there and do a deal ..unless we show conviction .. the longer we wait the bigger the auction ..we also need to get these players playing and getting them to know existing players likes and dislikes ..we need to be playing as a team , we need to make up 22 goals or more and double figure assists ..our shots on target needs to be higher on average or a goal average will be down …the fans know more about football in this country than the board does .. ..

  4. I like the idea of us going for some young foreign players it’s what Brentford have been doing it for years and making millions of selling them on. It’s an unusually clever move from our inconsistent board
