Blues face competition for Peniel Mlapa after bidding for the German striker.
After news broke that Blues were in talks with Borussia Mönchengladbach for the 24-year-old, Blues now face competition from German side Bochum FC, according to German news website Der Westen.
After it was reported Blues bid £500,000 two weeks ago, Gary Rowett may have to do more to persuade Mlapa to move from his home nation.
After joining the club for €3 million in May 2012 on a four-year contract he scored just 3 in 24 appearances last year.
The 6’5 striker could provide much needed competition for lone striker Clayton Donaldson who will be looking to match his 15 goal tally from last season.
What do you think, should Blues offer that much for an unproven player in our current situation? Let us know in the comments.
