After news broke today that Gianfranco Zola has replaced Gary Rowett at Blues manager, the Italian may be bringing a loan agreement with him to St Andrews.
This agreement would see Chelsea allowing their legend to loan some of their players, according to The Telegraph.
It took just six hours after the dismissal of Gary Rowett to announce the appointment of Gianfranco Zola and Blues fans have been very heated on social media throughout the day, with former players also venting their disbelief.
The 50-year-old is guaranteed a large amount of funds in January after holding successful talks with Trillion Trophy Asia this evening. Although, it looks like a deal had already been made due to the quick transition of events.
Zola is clearly seen as a more high-profile name and it looks like the new owners want to bring a new style of football to the club.
Joining Gianfranco at Blues are Pierluigi Casiraghi and Gabriele Cioffi as First Team Coaches, Kevin Hitchcock (Goalkeeper Coach) and Sebastiano Porcu (Video Analyst).
Club Director Panos Pavlakis has since said:
“We are delighted to welcome Gianfranco and his backroom team to the Club.
“His pedigree, philosophy and ambition fits with what we would like to achieve as we move in a new direction.
“Gianfranco has a wealth of top-level experience as both manager and player and we are extremely excited about his appointment.”
