Will Koby Arthur Move On?

Birmingham City midfielder Koby Arthur is reportedly set for a move from Birmingham City as two play-offs teams Brentford and Ipswich are seeking an opportunity to sign the 19 year old wonderkid from Birmingham according to reports from Ghana and The Football League World.

The youngster  joined the blues in 2012 from Non league club Woodford United but it has been suggested that the youngster wants to leave the club and play more first team football in order to push for the chance to play international football.

He is a player who’s future hangs in the balance. With Cotterill, Gray and Dyer occupying the flanks last season Arthur couldn’t get his chance under Rowett and remained on the sidelines for much of the season.

They brought him to Wast Hills knowing he could be a rising talent, that Arthur could develop into a fine senior footballer through his performances. But it is hard to remember the last outstanding performance from him the last time he got a full 90 minutes under his belt.

A supremely gifted academy product who has the talent to follow in the footsteps of fellow teenager Demarai Gray. Born in Ghana he came to Blues three or four years ago and has progressed through the academy set-up to make his debut in April 2013.

He had a couple of loan spells and played in Gary Rowett’s first three matches. Nevertheless it would be a shame to see an academy player’s future interrupted at the club on the basis that he simply isn’t getting enough match experience compared to his good mate Dimmy.

Blues may not be known for their big money signings but we definitely know our academy is a strong one as the path to stardom has already been trodden and the club’s ability to turn potential into players is good. It is a lot on which to turn your back on.

However as any young player wants, that is first team football. If moving to another championship club who can promise that, there is no reason why he would stay at Blues. There is no doubt he has huge potential but it is a question of does Rowett want him to play in the first 11 and will a new winger be signed?

What do you think, will Arthur stay? Let us know in the comments below.
