Despite Blues’ pre-season tour in Austria well underway, Redknapp hasn’t turned his attention away from the transfer window.
“I am hoping this week maybe we can get a player or two in.”
It’s been a very quiet month thus far in regards to incoming transfers, but it looks like there could be some more action at last. Here’s what the Blues boss had to say about transfers:
“We are very active, we are working our socks off, everybody, the owners, myself, trying to bring some players in to improve the quality of the squad.
“We have got plenty of irons in the fire, we are hoping to make some signings in the next week or so. “But we have got targets, I am hoping this week maybe we can get a player or two in.
“There’s a good chance we will get something over the line while we are out here.”
Blues fell short on their first pre-season encounter against FC Union today, losing 1-0.
Ravel Morrison and new signing Marc Roberts both featured, but ‘Arry said this evening he needs to see more from his players:
“It was difficult tonight. “Some of the lads have got to do better to convince me to get anywhere near my team.”
So I guess it’s just a case of wait and see, but it does sound promising that the gaffer is focusing on bringing quality in. Let’s hope we can look back at July as a real milestone for the club.
