Former Blues boss Gary Rowett is looking to poach his former striker Che Adams, according to HITC Sport.
The Derby boss has made a bid for the 21-year-old as he looks to mount a promotion push this season.
With Tom Ince and Will Hughes departed, Rowett has made Adams his top target.
Che scored on the last day of last season at Bristol to keep Blues up. His seven goals last campaign have been enough to turn the heads of many Premier League clubs.
Blues have been in talks with Adams for a new contract to ward off the evergrowing interest for the former Sheffield United star. However, with Rowett sniffing around, can Blues keep their most prized asset?
Shotton move stalled
Blues have not progressed further with the move with Middlesbrough for defender Ryan Shotton.
The centre back has gained interest from a number of Championship clubs, with Garry Monk’s Boro the favourites for his signature.
Redknapp revealed in his pre-match conference the 28-year-old will not feature in tonight’s Carabao Cup tie with Crawley Town.
Here’s what the Blues boss had to say:
“We’ve had interest for Ryan from a good club in the Championship and there could be a deal in the offing there but at the moment nothing has been completed,” Redknapp told the Birmingham Mail.
Downing move still in the works
As for Stewart Downing, negotiations are still on-going and Redknapp is still hopeful he can lure the winger to St Andrews before the transfer window closes.
However, it is understood wage demands are stopping an imminent move for the 33-year-old.
“The two deals wouldn’t be tied in together, they would be separate deals. Downing wouldn’t be a buy so they wouldn’t actually link in.
“I’d still like Stewart Downing if we can do a deal.”
What do you think, should Redknapp ponder over this move for longer?
