News emerged last night Blues have made a bid totalling £7.2million for Torino midfielder Afriyie Acquah, Ghanasoccernet.com exclusively revealed.
It is understood Blues tabled their bid late last night, Sky Sports Italia confirmed, in an attempt to ward off any interest from other Serie A sides.
The 25-year-old is very highly rated at the Italian club, but they are willing to cash in on their prized asset if the price is right.
Ghana’s leading football news outfit Ghanasoccernet.com understands that Acquah has already accepted the personal terms proposed by Birmingham.
The site were also the first to report on Emmanuel Agyemang Badu, who snubbed Harry’s offer to sign for Bursaspor.
Harry’s technique was quite approachable, selling a midfield partnership with N’Doye by saying “If anybody tackles you, he kills them”.
Acquah has only scored two goals in 20 appearances for Torino, but looks a very strong unit.
He was sold to Torino for €3.1m in 2015 after playing for the likes of Parma, Hoffenheim and Sampdoria.
The midfielder has also appeared quite a lot for the Ghana national team – racking up 28 caps and one goal.
All being well, this signing would beat all Blues records, with Nikola Zigic leading the way at £6million.
This signing would be a statement of intent from the owners and hopefully we don’t see this one slip through the net…
