Cole, who is in the final six months of his contract at Fleetwood Town, is attracting interest from many Championship clubs.
According to Football Insider, Blues, Sheffield United, Ipswich, Reading and also Wigan and Rangers are eyeing to sign the striker as his price has been slashed because of his contract terms.
Cole, son of former Man United forward Andy, has bagged 12 goals in 29 appearances in all competitions for Uwe Rosler’s League One side.
Blues are currently looking in the striker market and Cole is understood to be high on the list of targets.
The 22-year-old joined Fleetwood from Bradford City in January 2016 establishing himself as one of the best young strikers in the Football League.
Blues had the frontman on trial under Rowett two seasons ago, but a deal didn’t arise.
Fleetwood will want to cash in on him now instead of potential letting him go for nothing at the end of the season.
