Will Buckley’s loan has been extended which will see the winger stay for the rest of the season at St Andrews.
He impressed on his first start for Blues against Ipswich last Saturday by opening the scoring, which ended in a 3-0 victory.
Albeit it weren’t the most glamorous of goals but he was in the right place at the right time to bundle the ball in.
This news, that will be very welcomed by Blues fans, comes after Diego Fabbrini and Ryan Shotton have both signed this week.
Gary Rowett has expressed he is delighted to have the attacking options he has:
“When you get to this stage of the season, in the position that we’re in, I think there is always that gamble where you say ‘I tell you what, I’ll handle five players for three positions’, knowing that two of those players can come on and win you the game in the last 20 minutes,” said Rowett.
“And knowing that any one of those five players can start in the three positions and give us something on a day-to-day and match-to-match basis.
“What I’ve got to make sure is that there is still continuity of that front line and people still get that three or four games where they’re growing in their performances and that’s going to be a challenge for me.
“But I’d rather us be in that position.”
