Blues are understood to be talking to released midfielder Jason Lowe, according to sources online.
Lowe, who can also play as a right-back, was released from the club at the end of last season.
The former England U21 has spent the whole of his career at Blackburn and went on loan to Oldham in 2011.
Since then, the 25-year-old has racked up 203 appearances for the club, but only scored one solitary goal.
The defensive midfielder is highly rated at up North and many fans were sad go see him go.
As Harry Redknapp has missed out on the signing of Onazi, as a work permit was blocked by the FA, the Blues boss seems to be looking closer to home for much needed recruitment.
Lowe is a leader in the dressing room and he would definitely be an important part of the midfield line if brought in. Composure on the ball is what we need and although he may not be an attacking midfielder, this signing could be the one to bring the bite back in the middle of the park.
What do you think, a good buy or is it just Redknapp running out of options?
