Reading to put second bid in for Donaldson

Reading aren’t giving up on the prospect of signing Clayton Donaldson and are to but a second bid in for the striker.

According to GetReading, Steve Clarke is not giving up on the Birmingham top scorer after a bid was rejected last week.

Royals’ boss offered Blues £500,000 for Donaldson last week, but the bid was rejected and the club assured the fans he wasn’t to be sold. Leeds are also reported to be interested as manager Uwe Rösler is looking to add to his squad.

The 31-year-old topped the goalscoring charts for Blues with 16 goals last season and has become very much a fan favourite among the St Andrews faithful.

Not only has he scored important goals, he is also a player who works hard up top and is looked at as a powerhouse.

Donaldson has one-year left on his Blues contract after arriving from Brentford in 2014 on a free transfer. But now his future has become unbalanced. Some may look at it as good business, others will look at it as yet another prime asset out of the door.

What do you think, would it be a blow for Rowett to lose his top scorer? Also will Blues be able to find another goalscorer? Comment below.
