Blues are not known for signing former players, but Crystal Palace midfielder Jordan Mutch is looking for a new club this summer.
Mutch got his break through at Blues before his move to Cardiff, and with £10m in the bank, a big move could happen in the near future. According to The 72, Norwich City are favourites to sign the talented playmaker and Blues ‘may be interested’. However the Palace man won’t come cheap…
Alan Pardew’s squad is expected to stenghten in preparation for next season to improve on their 15th place finish last term, and Mutch’s future hangs in the balance.
The 24-year-old has three years left on his deal at Crystal Palace, but he is expected to be offloaded, which could lead to a smaller fee. Mutch left for Cardiff in 2012, however he wasn’t able to make his mark in the Premier League – not scoring in 27 appearances for the Londoners.
With Jon Toral back at his parent club Arsenal, Mutch would be a good option in midfield and could be useful backup for Stephen Gleeson, who looks to run out of gas from time to time.
What do you think, would you welcome Jordan Mutch back? Or do you think he’s out of our price range?
