Not the news Blues fans wanted over the summer break. David Davis is believed to have been injured in training with a suspected broken ankle.

Although there is no announcement as yet, Brian Dick from BirminghamLive has tweeted the following earlier this morning:

The defensive midfielder looked to be a certain starter for the new campaign under Monk, but the Blues boss may have to turn to the transfer market for a short-term replacement.

The 27-year-old made an impact towards the latter stages of last season, helping Blues secure safety in the division. The St Andrews faithful will be hoping he has a speedy recovery.

  1. Blues should already be looking for another midfield player, so Davis in jury shouldn’t affect transfer plans
