A move for defender Michael Morrison from former Blues boss Gary Rowett was waved away, according to Vital Birmingham.

Derby were understood to have made an enquiry for the experienced defender last week.

After being priced out for a move for Newcastle’s Grant Hanley, they turned their attention to the Blues man.

However, Harry Redknapp made it clear the 29-year-old is very much an integral part in his plans for next season.

The 29-year-old signed for Blues from Charlton, in which he made an impressive start in Royal Blue. An injury set him back last season which saw veteran Paul Robinson step up and take his place.

Despite his injury, Morro featured in the last game of the season against Bristol City – managing to keep a clean sheet when needed most.

Rowett has since signed Curtis Davies from Hull for £500,000, so we won’t be seeing any moves for Morro just yet anyway…
