Steve Cotterill is keen to return to Blues for unfinished business, according to sources online.
The former Bristol City boss was ‘under the impression’ he was going to be Redknapp’s successor after the season closed and the former Spurs boss would go upstairs.
Blues survived on the last day at Cotterill’s former club, but looking back, the 53-year-old was very much a big part of survival.
Redknapp only earned 4 points in 8 games, 2 less than when Cotterill was shadowing him and that was just in 3 games!
A £1.7million one-year deal was enough for Harry to stay on in May. Next thing you know Cotterill was on Sky Sports, don’t blame him really…
What we do know is he’s been sorely missed this season and many Blues fans were quick to reminice on social media about bringing him back to St Andrews following Redknapp’s departure.
Blues currently sit in 23rd place, with the worst form in the division (6 straight defeats) and with former player Lee Carsley warming the hot seat alongside a familiar face in Robbo.
No disrespect to those two, they seem to have brought the smiles back on a number of the lads and hopefully the confidence too. The owners need to think hard about this decision because we don’t want another manager sacked by Christmas.
According to the source, Cotterill feels he never feels he got the credit he deserved for drilling the team and guiding them to grind out results. Unfinished business maybe?
