Clayton Donaldson out until New Year

Blues will be without top scorer Clayton Donaldson for at least a month after picking up an injury against Ipswich Town.

Donaldson had to be stretchered off after scoring the penalty that put Blues 1-0 up on Tuesday against Mick McCarthy’s men.

However, the damage of his torn calf tendon is not as bad as first feared and depending on how quickly it heals, the Don could be back in action again for February.

The striker has made 19 appearances so far this season, racking up six goals. This means Lukas Jutkiewicz is more than guaranteed a starting place in tomorrow’s game against Brighton.

Zola may have to bring in Jack Storer as backup, but Che Adams can also operate the role.
