Sources close to AFC Bournemouth and Sky Sports are reporting Rhoys Wiggins is to have a medial with Blues tomorrow (Wednesday).
The 28-year-old has fallen further down the pecking order, following the signing of Nathan Ake from Chelsea. Although he has been heavily linked with Blues, the type of move is not yet known. However, with his age and position at the club, this is likely to be a permanent one.
Wiggins penned a two-and-a-half year deal with the Cherries in February, making it the fourth time joining the club. The former Welsh U-21 started his career at Crystal Palace before heading to Norwich and Bournemouth. However, his most permanent club was Charlton, where he made over 100 appearances.
It looks like a left back is finally on the cards, giving Jonathan Grounds that much needed competition. Gary Rowett isn’t finished with business yet, with Lukas Jutkiewicz also on the verge of joining.
