Derby County defender Ryan Shotton has joined Blues subject to passing a medical this evening.
The former Stoke man is the latest player to join Gary Rowett’s promotion chasing side, after Diego Fabbrini moved in a £1.5million deal yesterday.
The deal is thought to be a standard loan until the end of the season and if the paperwork is done in time, the defender is expected to go straight into the squad for this weekends’ game against Bristol City.
The 6″ 3″ full-back has struggled for first-team opportunities since joining the Rams last summer and he will hope he can restart his career at St Andrews.
Shotton is known for his tough defending, long-throws and his ability to play as a make-shift striker when needed.
