It’s that time again, Premier League clubs are splashing the cash in the transfer window before the 2018/19 season commences on August 10th.
Former Blues goalkeeper Jack Butland has been the centerpiece of Chelsea’s window, with a move to Stamford Bridge looking more likely by the day. The 25-year-old is currently being valued at £30million and is being considered as a replacement for Thibaut Courtois, according to The Sun.
The paper also claims Stoke are hoping to convince the stopper to stay at the bet365 stadium by offering him a £20k-a-week pay rise. However, this seems a long shot as the England No.1 will no doubt want to be playing at the very top level.
This will be good news for Blues as they will receive around £5.5million due to the sell-on clause made before his transfer to Stoke back in January 2013. Blues fans will be keeping tabs on any outgoings at Chelsea in this window and this fee could very well make or break Monk’s transfer window.
