Blues owners say NO to Karanka becoming manager

Blues have turned down Aitor Karanka after interviewing him, according to Sky Sports.

***UPDATE 10pm: According to other sources online, Karanka rejected the offer because he wasn’t ‘convinced in the project’***

The former Middlesbrough boss has been the favourite for the hotseat since the better began after Harry Redknapp’s departure.

Lee Carsley has been placed in temporary charge at St Andrew’s and so far he’s turned the team’s form around in winning against Sheffield Wednesday last night and also drawing away at Derby last week.

However, the former Blues defensive midfielder came out and said he doesn’t want the job and the club ‘deserve a more experienced manager’.

That hasn’t ruled him out of becoming assistant manager though, with the owners hoping to bring in a new boss in this week.
