Blues join Reading in race to sign former midfielder

Blues are interested in signing their former playmaker Jordon Mutch, with Reading also interested, according to the Croydon Advertiser .

The 25-year-old played in Palace’s 0-0 FA Cup Third Round draw with Bolton, but has found it hard to break through into the first team this season. Very much a star at Championship level, there is no wonder why many Championship clubs are monitoring him.

Aston Villa were understood to be preparing an offer earlier in the week and Reading head coach Jaap Stam confirmed that they were also interested in signing the former Cardiff City man. £2.5m is understood to be the current value for him.

After becoming a regular in the squad at St Andrews, Cardiff snapped him up and he then helped them gain promotion to the Premier League. However, he could be returing to the club that ‘made him’ as he will want to be getting more game time.

What do you think, should Blues make a bid for their former man?

  1. Be nice to see some signings now ,I can see us missing out on all targets and then panic loan signings on last day of window ,that Slovenian has trained with Granada today so that deal dead

  2. Mutch would be An ideal signing for blues but TTA do not seem to be coming up with an exceptable wage as yet with a few players so far …We have to be in it to win it and failure to sign the right players in this window because of a bit more wages is not exceptable …Kro ..

  3. Mitch is a good strong player but needs people around him to make a team one man doesn’t make a team so get buying and show us Zola was brought in for a reason not just a name.
