We understand that Blues have made an approach to Rayo Vallecano for striker Manucho.
The 32-year-old switched to Spain to join Real Valladolid after making just three substitute appearances since signing for the Red Devils in January 2008.
The Angola international was a surprise acquisition with the striker largely unknown in Europe and was subsequently loaned out to Panathinaikos and Hull City during his 18 months at Old Trafford.
Manucho believes he improved as a player during his time at Manchester United despite his lack of first-team football.
“People will say I did not do well at Manchester, but for me I learned a lot with very great players.
“It was not easy to get in the first-team of the best team in the world but what was easy was to learn with them.
“My ambition is to make a name for myself here, score plenty of goals because I can score goals in this league and I will have to score plenty like my hero Samuel Eto’o”
With Donaldson likely to stay, what do you think would this be a good move? Let us know in the comments below.
