Blues in race to sign Everton winger

Blues have been placed in the running to sign Aiden McGeady, the bookies’ latest odds suggest.

The £50,000-a-week star is looking to remain in the second tier, with Middlesbrough and Leeds United also linked.

McGeady had an impressive stint at Preston and there’s no wonder why the club want him to say at Deepdale.

Blues are placed at 7/1, ahead of Aston Villa 10/1, Sunderland 12/1 and Celtic 16/1. However, Leeds are 6/1 to sign the 31-year-old.

The 88-cap Ireland star scored eight goals and created nine in 34, so he could be a useful asset to the ‘promotion hopefuls’ next season.

In the Championship he has rediscovered some of his best form and won the Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month for February.

What do you think, a realistic target for Redknapp?

    • He could easily cut it in the EPL but needs love and regular playing time.
That’s exactly what he got at PNE and he was a big part of the reason they did as well as they did.
All of the teams being associated will have him as a squad player and he’ll more than likely flop.
PNE will give him big love but small wages.
