Blues director of football hoping to land Ghanaian defender

New director of football Jeff Vetere looks to be getting down to business already at St Andrews.

Ghana full-back Daniel Opare has emerged as his first target, according to sources in Ghana, having signed him before at Real Madrid.

Considered by many to be one of the hottest prospects in world football, Opare never made the cut at the Spanish
giants and instead found himself at Porto, Besiktas and is currently playing for German side FC Augsburg.

Recently on loan at RC Lens, Opare has been noted over the years for his pace and precision crossing. The 26-year-old would make a great addition to Blues’ back line.

Vetere was appointed as director last week and with his wealth of knowledge, himself and Redknapp will be hoping to make Blues promotion contenders for next season.
