Blues’ much-anticipated away shirt has finally been revealed this afternoon and its a slightly different number than perhaps some were expecting.
The kit, modelled primarily by Wales winger David Cotterill sports the 888 Sport logo through the middle, with the upper and lower sections of the shirt separated by a rather different looking ripple design.
The sections on the arms, supposedly where the newly designed Football League logos will sit aren’t featured on the shirt just yet.
For me, the shirt draws extremely similar comparisons to Wales’ and Nottingham Forest’s current strips but with their offerings both the home jerseys. Also made by Adidas, the home shirt of Benfica from the 2015/2016 season is also quite similar to this offering, but without that ripple design through the middle.
On the whole, I’m pretty happy but will be curious as to how that newly designed ripple effect adds anything when worn in person. I’d also have liked to have seen a couple more coloured images, rather than the filtered images shown in the above picture on the right.
What do you think about the jersey? Will it be home or away for you this season?
