And the 23-year-old centre-midfielder has spoken of her delight having made the switch.

Hegerberg in action for Norway

“I’ve had three good years in Gothenburg,” Hegerberg told Swedish newspaper Expressen.¬†

“But I felt the time was ready to take on a new challenge and I can’t wait to get stuck in with Birmingham,” she added,¬†having had her¬†international clearance given the green light needed to play.

Hegerberg is one of the highest rated players in Europe, and her signing is a real coup for David Parker’s side who currently sit third in the FA WSL 1 table. They sit seven points behind leaders Manchester City, but have a game in hand over their rivals.
