Blues ladies have completed the signing of midfielder Andrine Hegerberg from Swedish outfit Kopparbergs/Gothenburg.
The Norweigen international leaves having spent three years with her former side, who won the Svenska Supercup back in 2013.
And the 23-year-old centre-midfielder has spoken of her delight having made the switch.
“I’ve had three good years in Gothenburg,” Hegerberg told Swedish newspaper Expressen.
“But I felt the time was ready to take on a new challenge and I can’t wait to get stuck in with Birmingham,” she added, having had her international clearance given the green light needed to play.
Hegerberg is one of the highest rated players in Europe, and her signing is a real coup for David Parker’s side who currently sit third in the FA WSL 1 table. They sit seven points behind leaders Manchester City, but have a game in hand over their rivals.
