MATCH REPORT: Blues 0-2 Norwich City – Is League One our next destination?

Blues look set to be destined for league one with another loss in the league.

Four wins in 24, 12 goals scored and 34 conceded. Steve Cotterill fielded the same team which drew to the black cats of Sunderland two days before Christmas apart from striker Sam Gallagher who was sent off in that game.

Fans came here on a cold Boxing Day in Birmingham anticipating another loss and they were not wrong. Another performance which was of an extremely low standard and in some Blues fans’ opinions Cotterill needs to go, but is another sacking the right way forward?

The game began with a Norwich domination and they sure didn’t hang about to take the lead, with a goal by Alex Pritchard’s cheeky run inside the box to score in terrific style pretty easily past David Stockdale from the unwilling Blues defence. It was a dogfight for the home team but the Canaries took full advantage of this.

In the second half, Norwich saw a slight difference in Blues’s play to try and get back into the game but the visitors paved their way back into control and doubled the lead with a goal by Murphy.

Blues take on Leeds United tomorrow at St Andrews looking for that all important win which, potentially, could see them move above the drop zone.
