Blues fans have got to forget the Rowett situation and set their eyes on tomorrow’s game against Brighton.
Gianfranco Zola will be wanting to pick up from where Rowett left off. Brighton are tough opposition for Zola’s first game and this is a really tough clash to call considering the drastic change at St Andrew’s.
Blues are outside the Championship play-off places only on goal difference, and a new era will get underway on Saturday evening with Zola in the hotseat.
Clayton Donaldson is out until the New Year after coming off against Ipswich in mid-week through injury.
Greg Stewart (thigh), Diego Fabbrini (groin) and Paul Caddis (shoulder) were absent against Ipswich while Stephen Gleeson (toe) and Jacques Maghoma were involved but not fully fit.
Hughton has no fresh injury worries and has Beram Kayal and Liam Rosenior back in training.
Winger Kazenga LuaLua starts a four-game ban for the Seagulls, who are aiming to extend their unbeaten run in the Championship to 16 games. The Seagulls also welcome back Jamie Murphy back into their squad for the trip to B9.
Blues have lost each of their last three league meetings with Brighton.
The Seagulls won both last season’s league meetings 2-1.
Brighton have won five times in an unbeaten away run in the Championship.
Blues have lost just one of their last nine league games at St Andrew’s under Rowett.
Down below is the side we think Zola will name tomorrow evening against Hughton’s men:
Substitutes: Legzdins, Robinson, Dacres-Cogley, Brown, Tesche, Gleeson, Fabbrini, Donaldson.
