Just as soon as the transfer window closes, another window opens.
No, it’s not a double glazing company banging on your front door asking you if your slightly shabby looking exteriors need changing- it’s the Football League loan window.
It opens tomorrow evening and closes on Thursday March 24. After that, clubs cannot do any further business until the summer transfer window.
This is normally an important time for Football League clubs to potentially poach Premier League youngsters, or those on the cusp of their teams.
But do Blues need to use this window?
Rowett bought in Luxe Maxwell and Diego Fabbrini on permanent deals whilst Will Buckley, Ryan Shotton and James Vaughan all signed on loan until the end of the season.
This, in my opinion was quite a lot of depth to add to the squad. Buckley looks extremely positive so far and Fabbrini has shown glimpses of the player he was when we had him a year ago.
Whilst Vaughan has struggled to get goals so far, its highly thought that his time will come and he will improve.
Ryan Shotton is a great squad player and a fantastic option off the bench and young Luke Maxwell is one for the future and has already impressed in the U21 side.
In my opinion, with the players we have and these additions, I think this is enough. We have the likes of Soloman-Otobar and David Cotterill as options on the wings and with John Toral and Steven Gleeson in such good form, I think these areas are best left alone too.
As with any signing, chemistry is just as important as ability on the pitch. Rowett has a squad that is happy and playing well and he won’t want to upset that with a player who just doesn’t fit in.
I think the squad is better off left alone, pushing on with what we already have.
