How this released Hull City player could fit in at Blues

Blues are looking for a new striker and who better to have than a former player that’s been released?

Steve Bruce’s Hull City have released Sone Aluko after an impressive season which has saw them return to the Premier League.

The 27-year-old will be on a few Championship club’s shortlist this summer as is available for a free transfer. Here’s why Gary Rowett should make a move for the former Blues man:

A forward with pace and a lot of it. Exactly what Blues need, not to take anything away from The Don’s work rate, but what an option this would be. The two of them on the same pitch would be enough to trouble anyone’s defence.

A player that was known for his stunning strikes at Hull, who remembers this one at Newcastle…

Familiar surroundings

The Nigeria international joined Blues back in 2007. He may have not got a game but at least he knows the club…

Aluko is in his prime and many Hull City fans are sad to see him go. The major problem would be wages and would have to accept a significant cut. Although he only scored 13 goals in 90 games for Hull, he would get more with more games under his belt at St Andrews, as regular football would attract him instead of sitting on the bench again.

A possible target for Rowett and a player that can relieve the pressure off Donaldson. What do you think, should Blues make a move for Sone Aluko?
