Could we see the return of this Cardiff City striker?

Cardiff City are open to talks for Federico Macheda and Adam le Fondre, says Bluebird boss Paul Trollope.

Both spent loan spells at rival Championship clubs during the 2015-16 season and have not travelled on the Bluebirds’ pre-season tour to Germany.

Macheda has scored six goals in 27 league games for the Bluebirds, since joining from Manchester United in 2014.

The 24-year-old has found it hard to hit the ground running, however he did impress infront of the St Andrew’s faithful – scoring 10 goals in 18 appearances.

Many Blues fans have woke up to the news that he is available for transfer and like the idea of him returning, maybe on a permanent deal.

Who remembers this game?

In my opinion, Macheda is a natural goal scorer and can be a real asset to any team. His strength in the box is also a trait Blues need up front next season. If Rowett could make a move for him, I don’t think many Blues fans will question that decision, especially with the new season coming in just 11 days. The Blues boss said he aims to get a few bodies in before then.

As for Le Fondre, I think he is a great striker for any championship club to have but I have heard he’s lazy from Reading and Cardiff fans. At 29, he is getting on a bit…
