Can Jack Storer make it into the first team and produce the goals?

    0

Jack Storer, an unfamiliar name at Blues, has started to make a mark at the club.

The 18-year-old enters the fray with very little experience, but you can’t take away his mentality. After making his debut in the Football League and also impressing for Stevenage, Blues felt it was only right to bring the Shirley born man to St Andrews for a five-figure fee, with installments depending on his success.

6 months later Jack played in the 3-0 victory over Forest Green Rovers, bagging his first goal for the first team from a Solomon-Otabor cross. Storer has now been given the nod for tonight’s clash with Walsall after an impressive display upfront (watch below).

Many Blues fans have been asking the question, why haven’t we signed a new striker? Well, we may already have found a diamond in the dirt.

But who is he I hear you ask?

Jack was born on January 2, 1998 and spent three years at Stevenage, having joined Boro from Wolves at only 15 years of age.

    What position does he play?

Many refer him to being an attacking midfielder, but he has also impressed as a striker at all levels so far in his career.

Under 21 boss Richard Beale has been charged with increasing the options below first team level and has handed trials to several candidates already this season. It looks like Rowett admires him and could well be involved in the gaffer’s plans this season. What we do know is, what better time to break into the first team as a striker than now?

Donaldson will likely be the lone striker again this season, with James Vaughan, Alex Jones and Brock-Madsen as backup. Whether or not the Blues boss fields the youngsters over the flops remains to be seen, but there is definitely no harm in giving them a chance!
